Center for Premier International Language Studies (CPILS), is the pioneer and fast growing ESL/EFL center in Cebu, Philippines. It offers a wide variety of intensive English courses to international students who are non-native English speakers. In addition, we also offer a full range of exciting activities, along with accommodation and support services.

Our GOAL is to provide students with an opportunity to improve their English language skills for them to be globally competitive, thus paving the way for a major improvement in their career path. HISTORY
CPILS was established in July 2001 in what used to be known as the Harbor View Hotel along M.J. Cuenco Avenue, Cebu City. It was founded with the mission of providing quality ESL education to students whose first language is not English.

The second year brought significant changes. Students and teachers became more involved in co-curricular activities. School plays, outreach programs and fashion shows enabled everyone to showcase their talents. Academically, regular ESL programs (1:1, 1:4, 1:8) were registered at and recognized by TESDA - Cebu. As CPILS is the pioneer, it is the very first ESL school accredited as an Official TOEIC Testing Center in 2002.

The years that followed gave the school opportunities to expand its market to countries other than Korea. At present it has branch offices in Japan, Taiwan, China, Russia, Vietnam, Thailand and France.

With the steadily increasing number of students, several English language programs have been created. The school offers Sparta ESL Program, Junior ESL Program, Phone English (Online), Senior ESL Program, University Program, Business English, and Language Proficiency Testing Programs (TOEIC, IELTS, TOEFL).

From then on, facilities and equipment are regularly upgraded to facilitate the learning of students. Campus expansions and renovations are done to accommodate the increasing number of students and cater to their learning needs.

With the launching of the University Program, CPILS established a partnership with one of the best universities in the Philippines, USJ-R (University of San Jose-Recoletos) in 2009. To date, many universities have been sending students to CPILS.

Many local and international news agencies and broadcasting networks visit the school. In 2012, REUTERS, an international news agency, came and featured CPILS (students, classes, teachers, facilities, recreational activities for their English language learning story) in its English language learning story segment.

CPILS has maintained its position as the leading ESL in the country over the years. The school has received an award from the city government and citations from different public and private agencies. It has grown and continues to lead and leave its mark in the hearts and minds of its students and employees True to its mission, it remains steadfast in its pursuit for excellence!

MISSION
CPILS mission as an EFL/ESL center is to serve the academic needs of foreign nationals whose first language is not English; and develop them into globally competitive professionals in the international business community through quality education via individualized instruction.

Our mission is also to seek better and more innovative ways of teaching ESL and to provide our employees the training and opportunities necessary for optimal growth and development.
